In the end 90s Kid Italy and Clark Steiner were just two young artists from Zurich, finding themselves with video art, short movies, photography, and art performances,
before they decided to create Pop Music to capture the world with their sound, they founded a company called "Kidnapp.Inc" wehre the bored zurich Bourgeoisie could buy their custom made kidnapping.
After their kidnapping expeiment they left Zurich and rented an old bungalow at the northern coast of Spain and decided to name their band WALDORF.
Back in Zurich and Hamburg they worked with several artists and musicians to on live shows (electroclash festival NYC) and theater-soundtracks( “Rave” of Rainald Goetz )and remixes(Miss Kittin and Golden Boy).
Meanwihle they developed a breathtaking “Age of Stupid” Live-Show with Cat Neitzsch (Drums) and Rubio George (guit/Bass) as a PsyDiscoClubRock 4 Piece Band for small and big stages around the globe.
Now,after two successful dance singles, “You’re My Disco” and “Fashionist”, Waldorf is proud to introduce their debut full-length which includes the new single
“Get Ready for Your Last Dance”.

Waldorf’s debut album transcends the genre of Disco, Rock, and New Wave and integrates fantasy with satire.
They lead us in a dark odyssey from one dream to another, with a kind of somnambulesque safety.
Pictures, moods, familiar and undiscovered sounding objects pass by:
it starts with the feeling of remaining seventeen forever, and suddenly your eyes close in a flash of spiritual anti-war opium.
where you see yourself flying as a bullet over a battlefield....then kissing the face of your victim from the inside.
The result is a timeless retro-musical odyssey, like an up-beat and danceable version of Pink Floyd’s “The Wall”.
“Get Ready For Your Last Dance” is a throwback to classic disco with smooth pop-vocals that inconspicuously sing the sugar out of candy love. Jerry Bouthier wrote for Five/Five, “Waldorf have the class and humor of a modern day ABC…complete with Fleetwood Mac/Bee Gees chorus and slick rhythm section.”
After a few more tracks Waldorf delves into the fantasy world of “Erlkönig”, a musical vision on the known poem by J.W.Goethe. Think of Prog Rock meeting Dance Punk in the 17th.Century.
“Fashionist” vocally enumerates fashion’s top name brands like a prayer followed by an Italo-Disco backdrop while mixing in Electro, Rock and Roll, and even Gregorian Chant. Successfully sarcastic, listeners dance while laughing and singing along: “Dolce Gabbana! Armani! Versace!” Understandably, it made it onto Issey Miakes and Chanels Catwalk Soundtracks and last but not least into Italy’s Top 10 Dance Charts.
“You’re My Disco” is a timeless classic and is still played by the likes of James Murphy (DFA, LCD Soundsystem) and Misshapes (Madonna’s new DJ favs). It has also been featured on several compilations (Ministry of Sound), television commercials (Orange), and films (Partymonster).
Waldorf singles have been played by several A-list DJ’s like Timo Maas, Felix da Housecat, Tiga, Jori Hulkkonen (Zyntherius) Miss Kittin, and Tommy Sunshine.

Ende des letzten Jahrtausends treffen sich in Zürich zwei junge Künstler, die sich bis dato mit Videokunst, Installationen, Kurzfilmen, Fotografie und Kunstperformances wie z.B "Kidnapp.Inc" - ein temporäres Büro wo sich die gelangweilte zürcher Bourgeoisie in entsprechendem Ambiente seine massgeschneiderten Entführungen kaufen konnten,beschäftigt haben.
Sie beschliessen,nachdem sie Zürich umgehend verlassen mussten,die Erdbewohner lieber mit Popsound zu "entkoppeln", mieten eine alte Villa an der spanischen Nordküste und nennen sich von da an WALDORF.
Waldorf schreibt, produziert und inszeniert ihren Sound inzwischen in Zürich,Hamburg und New York wo sie seit dem Jahr 2001 eng mit dem Produzentenduo "A Touch of Class" zusammenarbeiten.
Waldorfs “Age of Stupid” Live Show ist z.Zt. als "PsyDiscoClubRock" 4-Piece Live Band mit Cat Neitzsch (Drums) und Rubio George (Guit/Bss auf dem Globus auf Mission.
Waldorfs einzigartiger Sound ist nach drei erfolgreichen und hohe Erwartungen schürenden Dancefloor Maxi Single-Auskopplungen "You‘re My Disco" ,"Fashionist" und der eben erschienen “Get Ready for Your Last Dance”,endlich reif, in ein Debütalbum gegossen zu werden, das nun mit dem Titel "Age of Stupid" vorliegt:
co-produziert von "A Touch of Class" dem New Yorker Produzenten Duo, dessen Produktionen uns letztens die Scissor Sisters “Confortably Numb” und George Michaels Abräumer "Flawless" bescherten.
Mitgemischt hat ebenfalls Produzenten-Urgestein Roli Mosimann, seines Zeichens verantwortlich für wichtige Alben von Faith No More, New Order oder Marylin Manson,laden ein sie auf eine musikalische Odyssee zu begleiten, die stilistisch Psy-Rock, Now Wave, Future-Rock, Daft Punk, Disco-Metal, Neo-Pop, Pink-Floyd-Dance,Italo-Electro-Clash, Rocky-Horror- Funk und Dance-Pop miteinander verbindet, die ein ihr innewohnendes Retro-Element keineswegs abstreitet, es jedoch bald unwichtig erscheinen lässt.
Mit schlafwandlerischer Sicherheit führen uns WALDORF in ihrer Klangoper von einem Traum zum nächsten. Bilder, Stimmungen, Bekanntes und nie Gesehenes ziehen an uns vorbei: Einmal das Gefühl, für immer und ewig siebzehn zu bleiben, dann plötzlich fallen im antikriegs Opiumnrausch die eigenen Augen zu und du fliegst plötzlich als Gewehrkugel über ein unbekanntes Schlachtfeld und küsst das Gesicht deiner Liebsten von innen.
Unmittelbar mit der Musik verbunden ist bei WALDORF das theatralische Moment. Vor allem im New Yorker Untergrund sind sie berüchtigt für ihre kompromisslosen, höchst intensiven Shows mit Elementen aus PsychoFabel und vernichtender Rock-Attitüde, die sie u. a. ans "Electroclash"-Festival (NYC),Schuspielhaus Zürich (Uraufführung von Rainald Goetz "Rave" Regie: Christina Paulhofer) und in viele kleine Clubs und illegale Events zwischen Barcelona (Sonar Festival) und London geführt hat.
WALDORF-Singles und deren Remixes werden von DJs wie James Murphy (LCD Soundsystem /DFA) Timo Maas, Felix da Housecat, Tiga, Jori Hulkkonen (Zyntherius), Miss Kittin und Tommy Sunshine gespielt. Ausserdem ist "You're My Disco" im US-Film "Party Monster" mit Macaulay Culkin und Chloe Sevigny zu hören, sowie auf Compilations wie "A Touch of Class Sucks!", "This Is Tech Pop" (Ministry of Sound) und "Colette No.4" (2ManyDJs) vertreten.
Der "Fashionist" seinerseits schaffte es in Italien sogar in die Dancefloor-Top-Ten. WALDORF selbst machen auch Remixes und haben für ihre jüngst veröffentlichten Bearbeitungen von Golden Boy feat. Miss Kittin ("Autopilot", Ladomat) exzellente Kritiken bekommen.
Die erste Single-Auskopplung "Get Ready For Your Last Dance" ist im Dezember 05 mit einem "Silvercity-Bob" (Seelenluft) Remix auf "A Touch of Class" in den USA erscheinen.
in Europa und Asien ist Sie mit dem Album im Frühjahr 2006 erhältlich.
Das Debut-Album "Age of Stupid" kommt im Frühjahr 2006 auf die Welt.
